Almost every Acatenango overnight tour includes the guide, the bed at base camp and the meals; what differs is the park entrance, the warm gear, the transport and the water. Tours & Activities SA’s Acatenango Volcano Overnight Tour (2 Days and 1 Night), from US$90 a person (checked November 2026), includes transport from Antigua, three meals, hot drinks and an A-frame cabin, and leaves out the entrance, water and gear. Meals and the bed
Lunch and dinner on day one and breakfast on day two come with nearly every tour in the table. The exception is Brothers Expeditions: of the meals, only breakfast on day two appears among its inclusions, and each hiker gives the guide a cup of water for the hot chocolate. OX Expeditions adds a restaurant breakfast in Antigua before the hike, and CA Travelers serves breakfast at its office at 7:15 AM. Every tour includes a bed at base camp; camp or cabin compares them.
What you pay on top on the cheaper tours
- The park entrance: the Municipality of Acatenango charges a foreign visitor Q100 (quetzales) and a Guatemalan Q25 (Municipality of Acatenango, checked November 2026).
- Water: at least 3 litres a person on Volcano Expeditions' hike, about half a litre of it for the coffee or hot chocolate at camp.
- Gear: rent what you lack before the tour; porters, horses and gear has the prices that are published.
- The Fuego trip, where it is sold: Q200 to Q300 where a price is given. CONRED said on 9 August 2026 that the ascent of Fuego is not authorized; the Fuego add-on sets out the rest.
